Powertron Teluk Salut Power Station 190 MW Combined Cycle Conversion Project
The existing power plant consists of four frame-6 GE Gas Turbines, which are running on open cycle. After the conversion the plant will be producing 190MW from its current 120 MW capacity. Two Blocks of 2-2-1 configuration Combined Cycle Power Plant will be designed to operate at base load to meet continuous load demand with ability for cyclic operation. The plant is expected to support 85% of Sabah's power demand in the future.

Ranhill Engineers & Construction Sdn Bhd, Kualalampur used its in-house expertise to design and construct the plant. Proven state-of-the art technology, safety, efficiency, availability, maintainability, environmental emissions and economics were the main criteria in the engineering design and selection of the equipment for the conversion. The plant's automation shall be such that minimum no. of operators shall be capable of supervising and controlling the day to day running of the units from the CCR with little assistance from local operators.

Ranhill reposed faith on M+P and installed 6 No. high pressure Ring Section pumps of M+P for supplying feed water at 135 deg C to boiler for 190 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant. This prestigious project was awarded to M+P after stiff competition from reputed global players and M+P responded by executing the order in record time of 8 months to meet the tight project schedule.
